Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated in a delicious sweet-and-savory honey sauce — this chicken is incredibly easy to make and seriously addictive. The chicken is coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs, baked in the oven, and then tossed in a warm honey-soy sauce. A simple recipe with a delicious result
Ingredients
600 g chicken (I used chicken thighs, but chicken breasts work just as well)
Salt, pepper
2 eggs
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
Sesame seeds
Green onion
For the Sauce
1/3 cup honey (90 ml)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/3 cup water (80 ml)
Steps
Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper
Beat the eggs
Dip each piece of chicken into the beaten egg, then coat with panko breadcrumbs
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 15–20 minutes
For the sauce, combine the honey and soy sauce and bring to a boil
Dissolve the cornstarch in the water and add to the honey mixture
Cook over low heat, stirring, for 1 minute, until the sauce thickens
Add the cooked chicken pieces to the hot sauce and toss to coat
Serve immediately, sprinkled with sesame seeds and green onion
