Delicate Italian panna cotta is a simple yet incredibly delicious cream-based dessert with a light, silky texture. Fragrant berries and a sweet strawberry syrup perfectly complement its delicate, creamy flavor
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups heavy cream (35%) (600 ml)
1/2 cup sugar (120 g)
2 cups milk (480 ml)
4 tsp gelatin (14 g)
Fresh berries (I used strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries)
Steps
Pour a small amount of cold milk over the gelatin and let it bloom according to the package instructions
Combine the remaining milk and cream and heat until almost boiling, but do not let it boil
Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved
Gently heat the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved, without boiling, then add it to the cream and milk mixture and mix well
Pour the mixture into individual glasses and refrigerate for several hours, until set
For the strawberry sauce, cut the strawberries (fresh or frozen) into small pieces and cook over low heat for about 5 minutes, until they release their juices
Top the panna cotta with the strawberries and their syrup, then decorate with fresh berries
