A little spooky, but scarily delicious and delightfully crumbly — these cookies are perfect for Halloween. Two buttery cookie halves are sandwiched together with your favorite jam, while the spooky little faces on top add just the right amount of Halloween spirit
Ingredients
120 g butter (room temperature)
3/4 cup powdered sugar (100 g)
1 egg
3/4 cup cornstarch (100 g)
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (190 g)
1/4 cup jam (I used cranberry jam)
Steps
Beat the butter and powdered sugar together using a mixer
Continue beating and add the egg
Add the cornstarch and flour and knead until a dough forms
Shape the dough into a ball, then roll it out to 3–5 mm thick and cut out circles
Cut faces into half of the circles (I used piping tips and a knife). These will be the tops of the cookies. The other half will be the bottoms
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes
Once cooled, spread the bottom cookies with jam and place the cookies with the faces on top
