This loaf cake is light, moist, and wonderfully chocolatey. Even though it contains bananas, their flavor is surprisingly subtle, blending beautifully into the rich cocoa and nutella. One of the best things about this recipe is how bananas improve the texture — they make the cake extra soft, tender, and slightly airy. It’s the perfect combination of banana sweetness and deep chocolate flavor
3 eggs
3/4 cup sugar (190 g)
3/4 cup vegetable oil (180 g) (I used coconut oil)
2 ripe bananas
1/2 cup nutella (125 g)
1 1/4 cups flour (160 g)
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 cup warm water (120 ml)
2 tbsp milk
A handful of chopped walnuts (optional)
Whisk the eggs with the sugar until light and slightly fluffy
Add the nutella and mix until smooth
Pour in the oil, then add the mashed bananas and mix well
Add all the dry ingredients and mix until combined
Add the warm water and milk, stirring until you get a smooth batter
Pour the batter into prepared loaf pans and if desired, sprinkle with chopped walnuts on top
Bake in a preheated 180°C (350°F) oven for about 45 minutes.
