A simple and delicious savory bake with a tender cabbage and boiled egg filling. A layer of soft batter is topped with a flavorful filling, covered with another layer of batter, and baked until golden and delicious
400 g white cabbage (~1/4 medium head)
1 large onion
2 hard-boiled eggs
Salt, pepper, paprika
3 eggs
1 cup kefir or Greek yogurt (240 ml)
1 1/2 cups flour (190 g)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Sesame seeds
Dice the onion and thinly slice the cabbage
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and sauté the onion until translucent
Add the cabbage and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 3–4 minutes
Mash the hard-boiled eggs with a fork
Combine the cabbage, onion, and eggs, then season with salt, black pepper, and paprika to taste
Mix the kefir or yogurt with the lightly beaten eggs
Add the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and vegetable oil, and mix until smooth
Pour half of the batter into the baking dish
Spread the filling evenly over the batter and pour the remaining batter on top
Sprinkle with sesame seeds
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 45 minutes
