Homemade, crunchy cucumbers that are ready in just a couple of days. Fresh, aromatic, and perfectly salty — the kind of simple recipe that always disappears quickly
Small cucumbers (with bumps)
Garlic
Dill flower heads
1 liter cold water
1 tbsp salt (heaped)
1 tsp sugar
Trim off the ends of the cucumbers
Cover the cucumbers with cold water and leave for 1 hour, then drain. This helps keep them extra crunchy
Mix salt and sugar into 1 liter of cold water until dissolved
Cut garlic cloves in half
Place cucumbers into a jar, alternating with garlic and dill
Pour the brine over the cucumbers, fully covering them
Leave at room temperature for a few hours or overnight
Transfer to the refrigerator and store in the brine
They are ready the next day or two, and become even tastier over time
