And so, another vacation has come and gone. This year, it came at just the right time. Winter was still holding on, and we were craving some sunshine and the sea. And, let’s be honest — it’s always nice to get away from the daily routine. Once again, we chose Mexico...
Of all the Caribbean destinations available to us, Mexico is still our favourite. It’s relatively well-developed, and there are plenty of places to explore and things to see outside the resort. However, when planning a vacation in Mexico, you should keep in mind that the sea is almost always quite rough and the weather can be fairly windy. Other than that — it’s a true paradise for tourists.
We always travel to the eastern part of the country — the Riviera Maya. This is a resort area along the Caribbean Sea. This time we stayed at Ocean by H10, located just a 20-minute drive from Cancun Airport. If I had to describe the resort in one word, I would call it cozy. Everything was convenient and well thought out.
The lobby was huge and divided into several sections. Having Wi-Fi in the lobby was a great convenience. Tired from the sun, we would settle onto the sofas, and everyone would get busy with their favourite activity :)

The buildings are three stories high. The room was quite spacious and decorated in a modern style. The entire resort was surrounded by lush tropical vegetation

There were two buffet restaurants with a fairly wide and tasty selection of food, as well as several à la carte restaurants that opened for dinner and didn’t require reservations
My favourite spot was the coffee shop. It was such a cozy little place, and the cappuccino was absolutely delicious.
I have to give credit to the resort’s entertainment staff as well. There was always something to do, no matter what time of day. Poolside games, competitions in the lobby, contests, dance classes, evening shows — everything was top-notch.
Unlike many resorts, where there are usually just two shows each evening — one for kids and one for adults — this resort offered several different shows every night, in different locations and to suit every taste. Our little one even got lucky enough to take part in one of the Disney-themed shows

In addition to the kids’ club, where the little ones could be left to have fun for the whole day, there was also a teen club with billiards, computer games and other activities, plus popcorn! There was also a tennis court and a basketball court, which made our boys very happy.
And in the pool, the kids were busy doing what they loved most — getting into mischief and having a blast :)
The sea in Mexico, as I’ve mentioned before, is not usually very calm. But how wonderful it is to wake up early, go for a walk along the shore, and then, warming up in the sunshine, build a sandcastle
This time we visited a zoo located very close to our resort — Crococun Zoo. I highly recommend this place, even though it isn’t advertised by tourist agencies. It’s an interactive zoo where a guide takes you right into the jungle, where you can feed talking parrots and make friends with snakes
You can hold a friendly crocodile in your arms — although, just to be on the safe side, they did keep its mouth closed — or even get really close to a huge crocodile basking in the sun
You can also feed wild monkeys and hug deer
Well, that’s a brief recap of our vacation. And to say goodbye, here’s this adorable little octopus :)
