A simple and delicious homemade meatloaf that doesn’t require any complicated ingredients. The oats make the meat tender and juicy, while the vegetables and spices add extra flavor. This recipe is easy to use as a base and customize with your favorite ingredients
Ingredients
500 g ground meat (I use a mixture of beef and pork)
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 medium onion
1 medium carrot
Salt, pepper, paprika
Dried herbs and spices — cumin, oregano, dill, Italian herbs
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
Steps
Soak the oats in the milk
Dice the onion and carrot and sauté in vegetable oil until golden
Add the egg, oats with milk, and sautéed vegetables to the ground meat
Season with salt and spices and mix well. The mixture should be juicy and slightly sticky
With wet hands, shape the mixture into a sausage-shaped loaf
Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for 45 minutes
Remove the meatloaf from the oven, brush with barbecue sauce, and return to the oven for another 15 minutes
